Confirmation 2011-2012

Dear Parents,

I hope all is well! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of our program during this time of renewal and healing in our parish! I am grateful to all of you and I feel very blessed to work with your kids!

A registration form for your 9th /10th grade Confirmation students has been mailed.  ALL classes will be held on TUESDAY evenings twice a month from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in St.Bernard's School.

Father Rick and I have decided to enhance the program with a few additional components. We feel adding some of the following will foster a richer and more rewarding faith formation program for our teens!

Please review the following:

    * Classroom instruction with REGULAR attendance-after 2 absences the situation will be reviewed by Father Rick and Kimberly to determine eligibility to receive the Sacrament on time. Please understand the teens meet only 16 times so attendance is very important!
    * Retreat-All candidates must complete a retreat. There will be a retreat scheduled for the teens by the Rel.Ed. Office. If your teen is unable to make that retreat it will your child’s responsibility to find and attend another retreat in the area to be eligible for Confirmation. I will be happy to assist should that be necessary.
    * Service Hours- All candidates will be required to complete 20 hours of service TOTAL for 9/10th grade, which will be logged and verified. At the first session in Sept. the candidates will be given contact names and organizations that need volunteers. It is the responsibility of the candidate to find and secure a place/places to do their service work. Please call the office at 875-3828 if you’d like to get started early for some suggestions and to get a log sheet for hours.
